For more than 4 decades Northfields has provided the perfect backdrop to thousands of special occasions; from the Bafta’s and the Brits, to birthdays, business meetings and the recently acclaimed Hell’s Kitchen .
Set up in 1952 as a supplier of linens for local caterers and restaurants Northfields has grown to become the largest linen hirer of bespoke linen to the event industry. From its humble beginnings working out of a small basement in Northfields Road in Stoke Newington, North London, Northfields now boasts 39,000 square feet of purpose built warehousing in Leytonstone, East London.
In 2004 Northfields acquired its own purpose built 50,000 square foot premises in the Far East, which has given the company total quality control. It manufactures its own yarn, and meticulously follows the whole process from conception to the last stitch. This hands-on approach has led to huge advancements in colour continuity and ensures that its high standards are met every step of the way.
Northfields manufactures all its own linen and with its workshop in Leyton is able to produce bespoke items in a very short space of time. Northfields holds a stock of approximately 500,000 metres of fabric ready for manufacture and boasts a range with over 400 different fabrics and shades.
Northfields also has its own attached commercial laundry that processes all its own work, and launders customers own laundry. A total of 70 full time staff are involved in the process.
